1. What is AbsolutelyParents about?

AbsolutelyParents is where you can find all you need in one place – community talk, links, articles, expert Q & A, photos, videos, products, places, services and more. The best way to start is to browse the many pages of refreshing ideas and thoughts at the Talk page. See what everyone else is talking about. Feel the pulse of the community. Discover your own muse. Be energized by heartwarming stories of successful parenting at HIDI (How I Did It). Plus, you can always take away plenty of insights from other members and experts at the Ask an Expert and Articles page. No matter what parenting stage you are in, you will find something right for you. You can find out more information about us on our About Us page.

3. What does Beta mean?

Beta is a reference to a standard software development cycle, where beta is normally applied to a system that is mostly working, but still being tested. AbsolutelyParents is in a constant state of change, always searching for new ways to make the site work better for you.

4. How do I participate?

It’s easy. Once you’ve registered and signed in, simply click on “Post a Talk” under your name. Then fill up a title, share your thoughts and choose a suitable tag. Click “submit” and you’re done!

And that’s not the only way to get involved. You can also post Bookmarks, Blogs or just comment. Have a question? Head to the ever-popular Ask an Expert section and get your questions answered by our Experts or the community.

Once you make your submission, it is instantly posted on the Community main page. With our Tags system, you’ll never lose track of your conversations or any posts. You may see the Submissions Guidelines for more help.

Add as many posts as you wish (the more, the merrier!) and you may be adding smiles to another parent’s life!

5. What is a tag?

Tags are like keywords or labels that you can add to any post to make it easier to find later. Tags are chosen by the author/creator of the post from an ordered list of topics. This classification system makes search easy and simple for you.

A tag cloud is a visual depiction of all tags used on the website. More frequently used tags are are in a larger font, while the displayed order is alphabetical. So you can find a tag by alphabet or by popularity. See complete list of Tags.

6. How can I copyright my original work?

You can use the Talk section to share any quality, useful and original Content for the benefit of other parents and at the same time protect your rights to your work. It is important to remember that you can only copyright Content that you own.

Creative Commons is a non-profit that offers an alternative to full copyright. There are six licenses to choose from. You should choose the one that best suits your needs. If you do not choose any license, then you agree that the content will be subjected to the Creative Commons Public Domain License.

You can add a separate license for every original content you post by clicking on the "add a Creative Commons License" box when you post your work.

7. Can anybody comment on my posts?

Yes, members can. When someone leaves a comment on one of your posts, you will see a little note (You’ve new comments!) below your name when you login. The note will disappear once you acknowledge that you’ve read the comment in “My Activity” section in your profile.

AbsolutelyParents gives moderation control back to the community. If you come across any post with inappropriate content, please Report it and help to make this Site a trustworthy place.

8. I like a post I read. Now, what can I do?

Let everyone know – add smiles to the Talk or Bookmark or Top News and it will be flagged as more popular. You can also “email it” to spread the word.

9. I have a specific question. What do I do?

You can use the "Search" feature to find specific results from the wealth of information available at AbsolutelyParents. You can also post a question at the Ask an Expert or browse through the list of questions and answers that is similar to yours.

10. What is My Stuff?

Once you register and sign in, an account is created instantly. It comes with a handy “My Stuff” section where you have My Profile, My Blog, My Activity, My List and My Friends.

Add a bit more details and your photo to My Profile page, and make it easy for others to connect with you. You can choose your privacy settings too.

You can access all previous activities (your posts, votes, comments) under My Activity and find your list of friends in My Friends section.

11. What about Privacy, Spam and such?

We value your privacy and time. Please read our Privacy Policy for details. We may send you emails to contact you for a purpose or to send you e-Newsletters if you’ve opted for it. You can edit your Newsletter preference any time at My Stuff. So rest easy, no spam from us.

Under Printables, you will find many useful materials such as Colouring Pages, Learning Aids, Worksheets and may more. Just login or sign up to download them.
